An excellent Original Ooban Woodblock Tryptych Print by Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900). A rare and original triptych in excellent condition.

Depicted is a Kabuki play titled “Jyuhachi Ban no uchi Kanjincho”. On right is well known actor Ichikawa Sadanji as tattooed Togashi Zaemon. Two other popular actors are also featured. Ichikawa Danjuro as Musashibo Benkei at center. Nakamura Fukusuke as Minamoto no Yshitsune at left. Printed April 7, Meiji 18th year (1885).

Note: Tattoos are rarely depicted in woodblock print.
